About
Kecia Chin is a certified Alexander Technique teacher with over 20 years of experience helping people improve posture, movement, and overall well-being. She received her certification from the American Center for the Alexander Technique (ACAT) in New York in 1999, building on a lifelong passion for body awareness that began in a gifted performing arts high school and deepened at Carnegie Mellon University, where the Alexander Technique was central to her training.
Before becoming an educator, Kecia trained in athletics, dance, stage performance, and combat arts—disciplines that shaped her holistic, practical approach to movement and postural health.
She specializes in posture education, pain prevention, and conservative spinal care, with a particular focus on scoliosis. Her interest deepened when all three of her children were placed under a “wait and see” approach for potential spinal curves—at a time when medical guidance was limited. This experience led her to advanced training in Schroth therapy and Schroth yoga, preparing her to support those with uncommon spinal curves or early scoliosis detection.
In addition to the Alexander Technique, Kecia also draws from her training as a yoga instructor, incorporating principles from Hatha, Vinyasa, Iyengar, and Bikram yoga for a comprehensive, mindful approach to spinal health.
As both a teacher and a parent, Kecia brings empathy, experience, and precision to her work. She helps clients of all ages restore functional movement, reduce pain, and move with greater ease in daily life.
Kecia is also an international educator and speaker. She has led workshops across the U.S., U.K., and Europe—including in Austria, Ireland, Germany, Budapest, Slovenia, and Spain—sharing her message of postural intelligence and holistic wellness with a global audience.
