Description

The Framework for Integration is a movement pattern analysis system anchored in the Alexander Technique and developmental movement. The system allows us to question ideas around “proper” movement technique and identifies habits we develop as movers and Alexander Technique teachers. The Framework system helps the mover/teacher to become more aware of these habits, expand conscious movement choices, and move with more efficiency, clarity, and intention. The workshop will include learning: 1. About the background in support of the system (Laban, Integral Theory, Dart Procedures, etc) 2. Learning to embody the simple model (Primary, Secondary and Reset) 3. A cursory understanding of the whole system including the Complex Model (Spirals, Counterspirals), and the Integral Model (Ball Work, Upper Lower triangles). 3. About its various applications to Alexander Technique teaching in the chair and table within the simple model (including timing and breathing at the first level). And finally, applications in everyday life.
